2022-08-01 Beekeeping Circle

From spring to summer, the Fuchu campus is filled with many different flowers, making it a very enjoyable stroll.
Come to think of it, the beekeeping club's bees' hives must have started filling up with honey by now, so I took a peek inside, and there were some students harvesting honey from European honeybees!

The container is covered with beeswax and is filled with plenty of honey.
Remove the lid with a knife, put it in a centrifuge, and you'll find lots of beautifully colored honey!

The harvested honey is filtered, bottled, and shipped to Yume Ichiba (Dream’s Market) (@nokoyumeichiba).
"Hyakuhana Honey" is a popular product at Yume Market, and is made from honey collected by bees, who work hard to pollinate orchards and collect it from flowers throughout the year.

In particular, honey from the Japanese honeybee, a species native to Japan that is difficult to raise and produces only small amounts of nectar, is extremely rare and is sometimes called the "phantom honey."
I would love for as many people as possible to try this magical honey, which has a unique sweetness with a hint of fermented sourness and a lingering aftertaste!

Last year's shipments were 40 bottles of Japanese honeybee honey, 100 bottles of European honeybee honey, and 300 bottles of beeswax cream.
I'm looking forward to seeing how much we can harvest this year.

You can see the beekeeping club's activities on their Instagram account (@tuatbee).
